Graduate Spotlight-Justin Lam

Class of 2022, Justin Lam is heading off to the University of Liverpool - Xi'an Jiaotong Liverpool to major in Business Administration! We asked him to consider his future options and how CISB has supported him. 

Why did you choose the University of Liverpool -  Xi'an Jiaotong Liverpool?

Currently, I don't want to leave China due to COVID-19, and I prefer living in China as it's so convenient. The second reason is that this institution permits me to earn a degree from the same University of Liverpool in England.

What was your favourite extracurricular or club? What did it mean to you?

In grade 11, we competed in a business competition and won the gold award! It was my first non-sport competition, and it was extremely memorable from all the ups and downs during the rigorous battle.

Tell us which teachers influenced you the most and how did they support you?

Mr. Tyagi, my Business Management instructor, had the most considerable effect on me throughout grades 11 and 12. He is the main reason I loved studying Business Management and my motivation for applying for the same subject at university. He always offered me a lot of feedback on any improvement I could make. Under challenging circumstances, he always provided support and necessary help. He frequently stimulates all of our students in class by incorporating real-life examples to make the lecture more entertaining than the book's sometimes dull examples. He and I have always agreed that knowledge is more critical than grades on paper, while during my career in business management, I have been granted a seven and have also obtained a three. When I received a lower grade, Mr. Tyagi did not focus on that; instead, he provided further assistance and recognized which areas I needed to work on. He has been an excellent leader and influencer during my time at CISB.

Describe your best memory at CISB?

My friends have always been there for me no matter what happened, and they have all influenced me to be a better Justin.

How has CISB prepared you for academic success and personal development?

CISB has always provided all the help that I could need. CISB will always support you in ups and downs, from academic to psychological well-being. Teachers at CISB are always at the forefront to help anyone.
